The Golden desktop just ordered (after 5 months of comparative PC research!)

Buying a computer should not be difficult. But it is. There are thousands of choices. Thousands of manufacturers.
Most of them are crap. Useless. Heavy. Overpriced garbage from WW2.
So what do you do? Here comes the media. “Buy Mac!” Friends join the chorus, like hypnotized, whiskey-drinking Tibetan ferries: ” Buy Mac!”
Enough! So i understand how you feel. And want to help you. If you are in the same quandary, consider my thoughts. Unbiased and true.
You buy solutions, not hardware. And you dont want to overpay. Stay under $500. So here is the winner. Here is the choice that i made.
